The Epistle of James

The fall Bible Study will cover the Epistle of James, written by “James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ.” The letter was addressed to “the twelve tribes scattered abroad” in which the writer enforced the practical duties of the Christian life. The book is short, but intense and contains the famous passage concerning salvation and justification: “What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works?” This is a fascinating study with an overall theme of patient perseverance during trials and temptations. You will want to join this. Watch the bulletin for starting dates and sign-ups.

NEW SUMMER SERMON SERIES     Sunday, June 9th

“Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Angels
—And More!”

Angels are a hot item on the book shelves. There are virtually dozens of books available on the subject of angels. Some good and some not so good. So why all the attention on angels? Are angels really that important? Do they exist today? How many are there and what can they do for us and to us? Most importantly, what is their relationship to Jesus Christ and what if any effect do they have in the church? Beginning Sunday, June 9, Pastor Mike will begin a new sermon series that explores what the Bible has to say about “Angels.” You won’t want to miss any messages in this series as they explore an important realm of God’s creation seldom understood. Among the messages planned are the following:

* Are Angels for Real?
* Would You Know an Angel if You Met One?
* Can We Be Touched by an Angel?
* Where Do Demons Come From
?* What Do Angels Do For God?
* What Can Angels Do For You?
* What Can Angels Do to You?
