Daren and Jodi Beck—ACTION International (Cambodia)

  • Praise:
  • For our new teammates, Ryan & Rebecca Quey. They have arrived safely in Cambodia and have already begun language studies. Pray with them and their son, eight-month-old Jonathan, as they prayerfully make plans for long term ministry alongside Shalom Mission Cambodia.
  • For the beginning of another school year which has begun at Logos International School. CJ (10thGrade), Drew (8th Grade) and Jodi (who is helping in the classroom with Learning Support) are all full speed ahead! We also celebrated CJ’s 16th birthdayKamryn is settling into life and studies at The Master’s University. Thank you for praying with her; she has met some great folks already!
  • Prayer:
  • For Tyler and Katie Van Halterenas they raise support to join Action Cambodia, Lord willing sometime early in 2019.
  • For the 37 Shalom Mission Cambodia churches, specifically the pastors as they faithfully shepherd the growing Body of Christ.
  • For ACTION as we engage the unreached peoples of the world. Did you know that nearly 1/3 of the world’s population lives outside a Gospel witness? Currently we have colleagues working among UPGs (Unreached People Groups) in rural India, Northern Iraq, central Ethiopia and the mountains of South Asia. Pray specifically that God would sustain our bold teammates in their ministries and that the Spirit would continue to raise up workers to proclaim Christ where He is not named, where there is no Church and where there is no Witness (Matthew 9:36-38; Romans 15:21)!

  • Frank Erb—Capitol Commission (USA)
    • Praise:
      • For the ongoing joy of seeing the Lord at work in the lives of many at the Capitol through the preaching of His word.
      • For the honor of leading an influential lobbyist to Christ and discipling him this year. He has now started a masters level seminary course, with his first one being “Christian ethics.” I rejoice in how the Lord is at work in his life and pray he continues to stay strong in the Lord and be used by the Lord greatly in the Capitol.
    • Prayers:
      • For God to guide the upcoming election. A number of legislators who regularly attend Bible Studies I lead in the Capitol are being heavily challenged. I pray that many who love and honor the Lord will be elected.
      • For the Lord to direct as I greet returning legislators and begin reaching out to those newly elected when they are sworn into office in December.
      • For year-end funding which is crucial to the ongoing ministry.
      • For wisdom and guidance as I make many plans for a new year in the Capitol.
      • For my son who is away at college to stay strong in the Lord.
    •

  • Grace Moses—Sangita Charitable Trust (India)
    • Praise:
      • That God opened our hearts to serve and bless more widows from the communities. God worked in His own way where we could not say NO. Last month, about ten widows just walked into Sangita and pleaded with us asking to include their village into the Sangita program. The widows stayed for a long time, pleading to be included. We discovered that there are more than 150 widows, including many special needs people, as well as younger women. God revealed his plan to us, and we have started the process to include the new village in our program. When we had our monthly program, most of these widows and special needs people showed up to join our program.
      • For the joy and fulfilment we have in the Sangita programs, and the joy and fulfillment we are able to share with others.
    • Prayer:
    • For dealing with the demand on the resources we have that supporting this new village will require. It’s a large village, and most of the people there are non-Christians.

Ruth Veltkamp—Set Free Ministries (Nigeria)

  • Praise:
    • For a blessing-packed trip to Nigeria from September 24 through October 17.  During the course on missions, God helped Ruth to link up the students at LEMA Institute with a missionary from their own ethnic group who has had extensive experience in planting churches among Muslims both in the Muslim-majority North and in the Christian-majority South. This missionary living not far from the Institute has offered to give LEMA students further training both in the classroom and in field experience. Thank God for this provision for follow-up!
    • For expediting the move of three missionaries from Senegal to Mali to begin a training school there for those interested in learning the Way of Jesus.
    • For the “Light on the Hill” Secondary School led by Sitana. Thank God for gifts towards repaying loans and for five desk computers for IT training.
  • Prayer:
    • For Rusina, who recently has concentrated on sharing the gospel with 40 masters-level students of Arabic studies in the university.  They are showing interest in coming for ongoing seminars and in reading for understanding the Bibles they have been given.  Pray for power for them to receive whole-heartedly the insights and revelations that the Holy Spirit is sure to give them.  May they be transformed by the power of the Word of God!
    • For safety, timeliness, and preparation for Akiza. Five witnesses of Akiza’s transformational development work in the northeast were ready to give their testimony in a federal court.  But when it came time to transfer Akiza from the city where he was imprisoned to the federal court, the police protested.  They did not have adequate protection for such a transfer, either for Akiza or for themselves, they said. So the hearing was once more postponed. Pray for God to facilitate all preparations, both spiritual and situational, for giving Akiza a stage and equipping him and those with him for faithful witness wherever they are.
    • For guidance for Ruth, as she, having returned to the US, intends to work on the remaining 27 video recordings for Christian Leaders Institute for the course called “Special Ops: Victorious Christian Living.”  Pray for wisdom in preparing this online course for students in 170 different countries

Thamsing and Ring Dilbung—Church Sports International/Sports Resource Center (East India)

  • Praise:
  • For the success of a three-day sports camp in Senapati district in Manipur in September. Although there were heavy rains, it went very well. A total of 64 youths registered on day one, and the camp ended with more than 100 people. In total, 70 youths renewed their lives in Christ. Praise the LORD.
  • For the success of a Sports Camping Conference in Kohima in September at Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima, with 34 participants from different parts of Northeast India. It was first of its kind to introduce Camping Ministry and the responses were very encouraging. Those interested members are going for further training. Praise God.
  • For the opportunity for Thamsing to become Team Chaplain to the Monsang Football Club. The team traveled from Manipur to Kohima to play for the Martyrs Trophy. For two weeks, Thamsing led Bible study and a worship service every evening. The team members were blessed spiritually. They may not have won the trophy, but their lives were transformed through the Word.
  • For the spiritual enrichment we received from attending a Family Seminar in our local church at the end of September. We benefited so much that God’s will be done in our family from this point forward.
  • That Ring and the mothers’ team, Self Help Group for Mission, had a successful five-day mission trip to Manipur and Myanmar. They raised funds to bless the underprivileged. This time they had visited two orphanages, a widow’s home, and a home for children with AIDS. We praise God that they could show a mother’s love to many under-privileged people.
  • Prayer:
  • For those youths who gave their life to Christ to continue in loving the Lord.
  • For the success of Sports Ministry Vision Casting in Diphu, Assam.
  • For the success of the Youth Camp in Dimapur Chang B/Church.
