Daren and Jodi Beck—ACTION International (Cambodia)

  • Praise:
    • That we will receive another long term (career) missionary this year. Tyler and Katie Van Halteren will arrive soon with their two small children to serve alongside us!
    • For the new outreach among tribal peoples in northeast Cambodia.  Excited to see this initiative lead by our Khmer colleagues and churches.
  •  Prayer:
    • for our International Council at ACTION. There will be representatives from 32 countries who will gather to pray and report on what God is doing around the world, and consider where the Spirit is moving us in the future.
    • For the unreached peoples of the world. Did you know that nearly a third of the world’s population lives outside a Gospel witness? Currently we have colleagues working among UPGs (Unreached People Groups) in rural India, Northern Iraq, central Ethiopia, and the mountains of South Asia.  Pray specifically that God would sustain our bold teammates in their ministries and that the Spirit would continue to raise up workers to proclaim Christ where He is not named, where there is no Church and where there is no Witness (Matthew 9:36-38; Romans 15:21

  • Frank Erb—Capitol Commission (USA)
    • Praise:
      • For how the Lord has been blessing the Legislators Bible Studies and Staff & Lobbyists Bible Studies as I teach verse-by-verse through the wonderful Gospel of John this year.
      • For the provision of excellent meeting rooms inside the Capitol for our Bible Studies, even though I was initially told they wouldn’t be available for our use.
    • Prayers:
      • For “open doors and open hearts” in the State Capitol, which I am making my theme this year. I meet frequently with many high-level leaders to speak with them about the Lord. Only God can give them and others a willingness and desire to meet with me and then soften their hearts to His Good News and his word.
      • For a number of government leaders who I am counseling who are privately struggling with extremely serious issues, including unbelief, sinful behavior, career stress, family problems, health challenges, legal issues, and political compromise, that they will continue to meet with me and that they will desire to be saved and follow Christ closely

Henry and Grace Banda—YOLEDS (Youth Leadership Development in Sport) (Malawi)

Friends: a couple of months ago, the Bandas suffered a disaster when their roof was blown off in a storm, and the house and many of their possessions ruined by the heavy rains that came in. Fortunately, the family was not injured. Please pray for them as they recover from this disaster.

    • Praise:
    • For God’s divine protection last year.
    • For God’s protection for our family in October, when we had our house roof blown off, but suffered no injuries.
    • Prayers:
    • For God’s direction in my life in the coming year.
    • For God’s wisdom as we serve him in the coming year.
    • For spiritual growth for all those new believers we witnessed to last year.
    • That God will create opportunities to reach out, and share the Gospel, through the vehicle of sports ministry.

Jay and Karen—Dynamic Church Planting International (Worldwide)

  • Praise:
    • That we are at 90% of our monthly financial goal! Over this past year, we’ve added partners from coast to coast! Jay is in Texas as our partnership base grows there. Jay will be joining the Global Headquarters staff when we reach 100%.
    • That Jay continues to integrate into DCPI life, participating in two local trainings in January. This gave him more contact with USA church leaders influential in their networks, while giving him more time with his co-workers and a broader understanding of the nine church planting training tracks DCPI offers.  Karen has been working part-time at the Global Headquarters in Oceanside as the Donor Care and Data Support Coordinator. Her job responsibilities have given her a deeper glimpse into the DCPI world.
    • That the family enjoyed their first Christmas in Oceanside, CA with Caleb and Lovisa (Sweden) and Jeremy (Atlanta) flying in. It was so special for the ‘Devers 5’ to be together on Christmas! It’s a blessing to have both sets of parents and our children in our ‘new home’ since our move.
  • Prayer:
    • For the DCPI World Zone gathering March 12-14. Leaders from Africa, Australia, Latin America, and Europe will come for encouragement, strategy, and connection with the DCPI team. It’s an important and anticipated yearly meeting for our world leaders.
    • For God’s continual leading and guidance in this final stretch of partnership development.  Last year was a great year for DCPI as they trained nearly 50,000 leaders in over 120 countries. DCPI is doing amazing work with limited staff. This year, they plan to train 62,000 leaders and add more countries!

    • Prayer:
      • For the rapid completion of two longstanding projects: the playground and opening our preschool. Please pray the inspections are not delayed further and go well.
      • For provision for our families as they make sacrifices to pay for tuition for the 2019-2020 enrollment process, and that families in our community are aware of our program.

      • Prayer:
      • That there will be no further holdups with our citizenship. We expect it any day now!

Ruth Veltkamp—Set Free Ministries (Nigeria)

  • Praise:
    • For healing both Sitana, a missionary from Nigeria, and Sharleh, a local religious leader in Mali, after they were severely wounded in that attack by radical Islamists last year.
    • That the local training center in Mali has been “resurrected” with close to 100 students.
    • For God’s preparation of this center and these students to be a fountain of Living Water making fertile Malian peoples for the Gospel in ever-widening circles.
    • That the loan for building the new Christian high school spearheaded by Sitana has been paid off.  Thank God too for a donation to buy four new desktops for teaching the students use of the computer, including training in finding good Christian resources on the internet.
  • Prayer:
    • For Jonah, now living in the Arabian Peninsula, who went to school with Umaru in Sudan 36 years ago. Last year, Jonah came to visit Umaru in West Africa and Umaru shared the Gospel with him. This year, Jonah introduced to Umaru three more “Wise Men” from different countries in the Middle East who are now also interested in the Way of Jesus. The five of them have started phone-conference training with Umaru as instructor. Pray for all of them to grow in wisdom and faith in Jesus. Pray that God will work in the hearts of their wives, families, kin and friends to prepare them to join in following Jesus.
    • For the success of plans to send 100 Bibles to Mali of the type of Arabic that Muslim scholars there use. Pray for God to go before these shipments to clear the way for them to reach the training center in Mali. Pray that each Bible may become Life-giving for many.
    • For wisdom and openness, as one of Ruth’s former seminary students, Pastor Simon, who went after his graduation as a missionary to Belgium, has invited Ruth to come to Belgium to teach missions in the church and missions training school he has established there.

Steve and Dawn Liberti—NAB Conference/Proclaim Ministries (Germany/Global)

      • Praise:
      • For an encouraging and successful advance planning trip to Albania for Steve in February. God is clearly at work in this country and He is creating lots of opportunities for ministry with a growing number of church partners. We are looking towards an evangelistic campaign later this year.
      • That Dawn had an opportunity to join a Proclaim team to South Africa. She is currently serving in the townships (slums) near Cape Town, partnering with ministries who are focused on reaching youth using ESL training, and life skills which creates witnessing opportunities pointing them towards Christ.
      • For an unusually warm and sunny February here in Germany. Steve has experienced the winter blues/seasonal effective disorder in recent years, and it has been wonderful to get a healthy dose of vitamin D as of late!
      • For a recent visit by a dear brother and supporter from California. We worked together during his visit by serving in a couple of local churches together as well as at BFA where Bianca and Sofia attend school. It is always very encouraging to host visitors and work together for The Kingdom locally here in Germany.
      • Prayer:
      • For several Muslim people from Syria who are currently in Germany at a nearby Refugee Center where we have opportunities to minister. They have indicated interest in a Bible study and we are praying that they open their hearts and minds to the truth and beauty of The Gospel and escape their bondage to Islam.
      • For Steve’s elderly mom Mary who is a devout Jehovah’s Witness. Pray for her salvation and for her on-going health issues. Please also pray Dawn’s mom Marilyn and her chronic health issues as well. It is an increasing challenge for our family to be apart from them as missionaries in an overseas assignment.
      • For our family as Bianca will graduate from high school this year and be attending Taylor University next fall. This is new territory for Dawn and me, and we expect to miss her as we continue to be based in Germany for at least the next couple of years.
      • For evangelistic campaigns currently in process for Croatia, Serbia, Albania, and here in Germany. Steve will lead the bulk of these campaigns and needs prayer for God’s clear leading and direction as he recruits workers, organizes logistics and travels for planning with church partners
      • For a planned advance trip to Albania next February as part of a re-scheduled time of ministry in this southern European country. Pray that God leads us to plan well and to widen our contact base and cast a bigger vision for our focus in Albania.
