Daren and Jodi Beck—ACTION International (Cambodia)

  • Praise:
    • That we were blessed to participate in the commissioning of the next generation of leadership for Shalom Missions Cambodia! Blessed to see a godly leadership succession. Pray with us that the new leaders will be used of the Lord to press on in the ministry.
    • That we celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary last month—we’re blessed beyond measure!
    • Praise God for the baptism of ten new believers this past month!
  •  Prayer:
    • For continued success as we follow up from the Christmas Outreaches which took place in December, specifically for the ten evangelistic Christmas parties that were held in unreached villages here in Cambodia. We’re blessed to see these church-based outreaches proclaim the Gospel in hard places!
    • For the unreached peoples of the world. Currently we have colleagues working among UPG’s (Unreached People Groups) in rural India, Northern Iraq, central Ethiopia, and the mountains of South Asia.  Pray specifically that God would sustain our bold teammates in their ministries and that the Spirit would continue to raise up workers to proclaim Christ where He is not named, where there is no Church and where there is no Witness (Matthew 9:36-38; Romans 15:21)!

    • Praise:
      • For the pleasure of seeing God touch many lives as we have proclaimed him in the Capitol over the past year.
      • That I had some quality time with my family over Christmas and New Years.
    • Prayers:
      • For wisdom and guidance as I plan for a new year of outreach and discipleship at the Capitol.
      • For God to open doors and hearts as I reach out to new and returning legislators and staff after the session resumes on January 7.
      • For meeting rooms inside the Capitol. For the first time in ten years I am having difficulty obtaining permission to use a room for our weekly Legislators Bible Study.

Henry and Grace Banda—YOLEDS (Youth Leadership Development in Sport) (Malawi)

Friends: a couple of months ago, the Bandas suffered a disaster when their roof was blown off in a storm, and the house and many of their possessions ruined by the heavy rains that came in. Fortunately, the family was not injured. Please pray for them as they recover from this disaster.

  • For God’s direction in my life in the coming year.
  • For God’s wisdom as we serve him in the coming year.
  • For spiritual growth for all those new believers we witnessed to last year.

  • Lincoln Christian Academy (formerly Community Christian School), Lincoln, CA (USA)
    • Praise:
      • That the preschool paperwork is in and our rooms are almost ready! We have also hired an office manager who is getting all files, paperwork, etc. in order.
      • That we now know what will be required for the playground to pass the structural inspection and the city will grant us an extension on the ADA work so the children will be able to play on it.
    • Prayers:
      • For several staff members who are facing major health issues or who need further testing to determine treatment.  Please pray for healing and wisdom.
      • For everything that needs to be done to open a preschool: that paperwork is processed quickly, that the playground and rooms are set up in time, and that inspections go well.
    •

    • Michael and Irina—Slavic Gospel Association (Eastern Europe)
        • Praise:
        • That one of my brothers came to visit us for Christmas, which was a great blessing. We have always celebrated Christmas with our family, and this brother was the representative of our family back in the States.
        • That we were able to submit our documents for Citizenship. Now we wait. Lord willing, we’ll hear back in February 2019.
        • Prayer:
        • That there will not be any hold ups with our Citizenship.  The sooner we get our citizenship the sooner I can get my Mechanics and Pilots licenses validated in Russia.
        • For the Aircraft registration process has changed in Russia and we are now following the new procedures to get our planes registered.  There are pluses and minuses to the new system.  Pray that we’ll be able to get it done quickly and cost effectively.

Ruth Veltkamp—Set Free Ministries (Nigeria)

  • Praise:
    • For the faithfulness of Princess, whose doctor husband was martyred in Sudan. She went back to Sudan when she heard that her mother was sick and dying. Once back in Sudan, Princess started sharing the gospel “in secret” with other women, even recruiting them to pray for her mother three times a day. Thank God her mother is showing signs of healing.
    • That God is healing Rusina from pneumonia.  Give thanks for the continuation of his work of making disciples of Christ among teachers in Muslim schools who are furthering their education in the university near where he lives.
    • For opportunities for Ruth to speak in the US and Canada to an adult Sunday School, grades 5-7 in a Christian grade school, two Bible studies, a training for prayer leaders, a Campus Church young people’s group, and a morning church service.
  • Prayer:
    • That Princess’s witness in Sudan may bear much fruit.  Pray for the healing of her mother in spirit, soul, and body.  May the Love of God take deep root in the lives of Princess’s Muslim family and friends.
    • For the work in Mali, which is proving to be a “steeplechase race,” not a 100-yard dash. Sitana went to help out at the training school for those eager to hear the Gospel. But one day a messenger came to invite him and others to a group “assembled to hear the Gospel.” It was a trap. Those who went were beaten up. One of the Senegalese missionaries was killed and Sitana sustained five breaks in his arms. Pray for comfort and healing and for a full “resurrection” of the training of new disciples in Mali.
    • For Akiza, who is still in detention.  Keep praying for him to be encouraged in faith in Jesus.  Keep praying for God to equip Akiza and others suffering persecution for faithful witness.  Pray for those visiting and helping him in detention not to grow weary in well doing.
    • That Ruth may be empowered to work on the remaining 27 video recordings for Christian Leaders Institute for the course called “Special Ops: Victorious Christian Living.”  Pray for wisdom in preparing this online course for students in 170 different countries.

Steve and Dawn Liberti—NAB Conference/Proclaim Ministries (Germany/Global)

    • Praise:
    • For a wonderful time of ministry with the refugee population here in Germany during this Christmas season. We showed the “Jesus Film” to a group of mostly Muslim families. Pray for open hearts and minds and that God would reveal Himself to this beautiful group of people.
    • For some rare and much needed time away as a family. God provided 4 days and 3-nights in Amsterdam where we enjoyed being together and seeing the city sights, food and culture.
    • For His provision of a wonderful church we are a part of here in Germany. G5 Church is a unique place among German Christians in that they have a heart for missions and outreach to their community. Christmas Eve Services were very well attended by new people in the nearby community. Pray for ongoing contact and discipleship opportunities.
    • Prayer:
    • For plans being made for a return to Hungary and Serbia, to come alongside our NAB partners Ron and Jeannie Seck in their ministry reaching Roma people. Pray for our plans to be in perfect alignment with God’s plans as we discuss timelines and details.
    • For Dawn’s mom Marilyn and Steve’s mom Mary. They both have increasing medical challenges and care needs.
    • For a planned advance trip to Albania next February as part of a re-scheduled time of ministry in this southern European country. Pray that God leads us to plan well and to widen our contact base and cast a bigger vision for our focus in Albania.

Thamsing and Ring Dilbung—Church Sports International/Sports Resource Center (East India)

    • Praise:
    • For the success of a “Vision Casting” in a small border town between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh called Joyrampur. For such a small town, we had a huge turnout: 150 church leaders attended! Praise God!
    • That Thamsing was chosen to be the Lead Resource Person at the Manipur Baptist Convention initiative’s Church Leadership Training in November.
    • For the success of the five-day Church Sports Leadership Training at Town Baptist Church in Itanagar Arunachal Pradesh in late November. 32 church leaders from different denominations attended. A special gift from Lincoln Hills Community Church made this training possible.
    • For the success of three different Sports Ministry “Vision Casting” events, two in Jorhat, and one in Nagaland at the Withee Bible College in Dimapur. Praise God that sports ministry is widely accepted in every town and city!
    • Prayer:
    • For the success of an upcoming festival and literature workshop in Dimapur. We expect more than 20 people from my Lamkang tribe are traveling from Manipur; pray for their safe journey and for the workshop to be successful.
    • That the youths who we reached at the Advent Christmas celebration on December 15, held at Dimapur Stadium, will continue to follow the Gospel. We invited non-Christians, so that the Gospel was preached to them. Pray for God’s will to be done.
    • For the production of The Sports Bible. We have heard that it will take a minimum of two months to complete printing and packaging. Pray for no complications in the process, and that we will be able to distribute the Bibles to those who need it most.
    • For success in his message, and for safety in travel, as Thamsing will speak in several locations for the new year.
    • For wisdom as the LNBA Association holds a two-day planning workshop for 2019. Please pray for guidance for Thamsing as he shares his ministry goals of 2019 to empower more than twenty churches in the Lamkang area.
    • For those youths who gave their life to Christ this year to continue loving the Lord.
