March ~ April 2017

“Rain, rain, go away; come again some other day.”  Well we weren’t singing that song last year but what a difference a year makes.  I think someone else has been singing, “Baby the Rain Must Fall” or “Raindrops Keep Fallen on My Head.”  At any rate, I think we are all ready for a little gentler weather and with it, the bursting forth of spring.  I always look forward to spring time bursting forth in praise from within the empty tomb.  Springtime reminds me that I will soon be singing, “Up from the grave He arose, with a mighty triumph o’er His foes; He arose the victor of the dark domain and He lives forever with His saints to reign. Hallelujah, Christ arose.” Something goes up and down my spine every time I sing that song.  Spring time signals the opening of the tomb and the expulsion of darkness.  It is when the trees flower and life comes online; but how much more is that true in the life of the one who follows Jesus.  Spring is the season of Easter; it is the season of victory; it is the season that signals what is ahead in the New Heaven and Earth.  Jesus said, in Revelation 21:5, “Behold I will make all things new.”  And indeed the resurrection of Jesus Christ signals that life can be new; life will no longer die but live forever.  I hope you are anticipating the joy and living colors of spring as I am.  But even more I trust that you are earnestly longing for that day when we shall be like Him because we shall see Him as He truly is, brilliant in majesty, radiant in glory (1 John 3:2).
