Welcome to Women’s Ministry

We believe women are designed by God to meet the needs of other women.  Our purpose here at Lincoln Hills Community Church is to encourage you to develop and maintain a vital relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer, Bible study, outreach activities, and service.

Women’s Fellowship

Various events are offered throughout the year to allow women to become better acquainted, meet new people, and for fellowship.  These events for 2016 include a Women’s Conference on March 19, with the theme “Clothed in Faith” (see below), a Summer Salad Potluck Luncheon on July 16th, a Holiday Craft Fair on November 4-5, and a Christmas Tea on December 10.

Women of the Word (WOW) Bible Studies

In January, the current session began.  One session is held on Monday from 10:00 to 11:30.   Another is held on Thursdays from 10:00 to 11:30.    These studies are concluding shortly, but they will resume in September.  Come and join a wonderful group of women and study the scriptures together.  You can get further information regarding the studies by calling the church office at 916-408-3800.

Opportunities for Service

There are many ways to get connected and serve at LHCC.  Among them are the Women’s Visitation ministry which provides support, encouragement, companionship, and services to homebound women within the church community.  Helping Hands is another ministry in which meals are arranged for those within the church family who because of illness, other difficulties, or bereavement may have need of this ministry.  As part of the Prayer Shawl ministry, women gather together to knit and crochet prayer shawls to be given to those who are in need of support because of difficult circumstances.

Newcomers Welcome Coffee

In order to acquaint women with our church and the women’s ministry events and activities, new attendees and those interested in meeting and fellowshipping with  other women in the church, are invited to attend the Newcomers Welcome Coffee.  These coffees will be held quarterly.  The dates for this event are February 17, May 18, August 17, and November 16.  They are generally held in the church foyer.  For more information, call the church office at 916-408-3800.

Friendship Interest Groups (FIGS)

These groups are designed to encourage women to enrich friendships through mutual interests and shared activities.  It is hoped that each participant will develop new and lasting friendships as they enjoy the activities and share the love of Jesus.

The groups include: Inspirations of the Season which will include special presentations and seasonal activities.  This group will meet on April 11 at 2:00 for a presentation by Susie Crawford who creates interesting quirky, figurative dolls.  Needlers, are those who work on knitted, crocheted or needlepoint projects and provide help for beginners.  Ladies in Stitches work on quilting and needlework projects also with experienced helpers.  Finish your own projects and/or donate items to UCD Children’s Hospital.  The Shop and Lunch Bunch group enjoy shopping and lunch with friends and acquaintances in various locations.  In Stamp Camp, unique greeting cards and paper projects are made.  Supplies are provided for a small fee.  (Participants should have basic supplies such as double sided tape, scissors, etc.)
